VBS!!!

Vacation Bible School. It runs Monday- Friday August 8-12. I am the game director, but because Salisbury took a week off for Alabama I am only there today and tomorrow, I have to work Mon, Tues, Friday and it bites! It was really cute today, Alex called me to make sure I was up and on my way. I took a shower and went to church where I had just missed the very first game time. Our schedule is 1/2 hour behind all the rest so if it starts at 9, we don't see kids until 930. Our custodian was driving the lawn mower around with three wheeled boxes around the parking lot, driving the pre-schoolers around. It was like Schindler's List for Kids. They were having a good time, and they cheered and waved when they saw me. I freaked some of them out as a result of the facial hair I now sport. They went on and I joined Alex, my assistant director. We went over the game, just a pass an item back and run to the front game. All the groups did very well but no matter what we did rule wise the team closest to the parking lot was the winning team. All nine times. It was weird. Tomorow is a scavenger hunt, but where we're at, there are three shrubs and two pine trees. Not really difficult. I'll be reading the latter half of the afternoon about outdoor games that can be played with large groups.

After the mayhem I briefly appeared at Subway to purchase a Daily Deal sub. Turkey, american cheese, mustard, mayonaisse, lettuce, banana peppers, spinach, carrot slices, all on their delicious wheat bread. Brought it to Republic where I am now until 5:00. Yesterday was an exciting day. I worked on my skills packet for my level 1 promotion. If I did a well enough job, I get a bonus and a title change. I made some copies of the documents so I could have them in the event that they are lost in the mail. Also, a woman came in to cash a check for $2500 and wanted it in cash. She was also inquiring about wiring some money to her son throught a friends account. Normally those things are not a problem. However, her check had the date scribbled out, a weirdly spaced name written out on the pay to line, and the memo was a bunch of garbage. I had my doubts about here when she was in her truck with no plates on it for 1/2 hour. I took it to our assistant manager, she waived me to the branch manager. After calling a few numbers we were unable to cash the check. She left and said she would bring another check back to cash. When she left Bev called the number on the account and we found out that the lady has been doing this for a while. I went through and found she had sucessfully passed off someone elses checks as payable to her, and they were cashed at some of our other banks. Luckily we had not cashed it and retained some of the information she had used, and the bank was able to stop losses to the customer! It was totally awesome.

Now, I'm just stamping interoffice mail documents and making sure we have enough paper. I'll be here from 830-6 on Friday, so if you have an extra $100, come open up a checking account and get some free stuff. Bring someone else with you and have them open an account, you could get a duffel bag, roadside assistance kit, or a fleece blanket! All just for putting $100 in the bank. Can it be any simplier?

Man! I love it when you catch bad people at the bank! Awesome. I caught $1000 worth of counterfeit bills once. The customer was none too pleased. I think someone had paid him with it..boo.

So, last night you missed one of the greatest things I have ever witnessed (with the musical people at least), Josh "Mr. Straight Man" K. cracked himself up..laughing at his own (very dumb)joke to the point of tears. I have never seen anything like it. His face was red and there was actually weeping.

The moons have aligned.
