Smells like Teen Spirit...or Aarid Xtra Dry
Good Friday to you! What a day this has been. I was up early enough to have two Eggo waffles and a glass of apple cider for breakfast before I took off for school today. It was a good start for the morning. I dressed up in shirt and tie for school to look nice for the kids. And if I am in a picture or two, that's great too!
We celebrated with our pumpkin party. Instead of having a Halloween party we have a "fall" party, filled with games, food, and festivities for the kids. Bag decorating for the prizes, cookie frosting, apple spooning, M&M graphing, spider web painting, bean bag tossing, and the maze. I took the place of attendant for the maze this year. Once the kids travel the lenght of the maze they recieve a piece of candy. It was all Hershey chocolate this year. Kit Kat, Hershey bars, Reese's Cup! A bucket was not nearly enough as I was out of candy within the first 10 mins. But I just used that as my reason to get smaller candy and slide it along the floor to the kids sitting far away from the maze. They would grab the candy, tell their mom who it came from, and run over and say thank you. It was a very warm filling sensation for me, to see the kids really happy.
We also decided to murder the pumpkin we picked from the apple orchard. A very simplistic look, probably the most traditional I have ever made. Triangle eyes, rectangle nose, and a content smile. Very classic.
We also read a story entitled "The Pumpkin Patch Parable." It was a very good read and the kids seemed to enjoy it.
Overall a fun filled day. I ran out of time following the cleanup from the party, but I snuck into Foodtown and bought some Lunchable type snacks for lunch. I had ham, turkey, and bologna. I was relieved to see that they all came with american cheese, rather than swiss like they used to. That was always gross. What kids ask for swiss cheese with crackers?
Maybe a swiss kid? Or a Swiss Miss?
Anyways, came to the bank, and it's been a pretty slow day. Sheryl came in this morning for about 10 mins and then went home sick. That was sad. Hopefully she's doing well. Due to Sheryl going home, Beverly had to come in. Bev was supposed to be collecting donations for the Lion's Club at the Foodtown in Lambertville. I will be going to Kroger tonight and working from 630-1100. Should be filled with all sorts of promising fun!
In closing, my apologies to those who went out last night. I was feeling pretty good until after choir practice, and I did not really want to go out after that. Thanks to the Francophile for the fun phone message. I'm still decoding it.
Everyone enjoy your weekend!!!!
