It's an Adventure

It's over. Charlotte is dead, Wilbur's alive, and I'm out of Maumee for a while. It's nice to be back.

The web is done, and what a run. We drew an audience of almost 1000 people through the weekend. What a show. You would'nt think that a story about saving a pig from becoming bacon would be a big draw, but it was.

The music shaped up, and acting flowed smoothly, and the dancing was the cutest. I did not know how colorful it was going to be when costumes were added, but the mix of animals for the "Nice to Meet You" provided a dancing rainbow of sorts. It was very exciting. The kids looked great. And I think the Playshop is happy that it ran the way it did.

One of the best parts was working with former Playshoppers to make this show work! Fantastic.

In other news, a great shake up of sorts has transpired here. At the bank, where I have been employeed for the last two years, some movement has been going on. Set in motion years previously, our branch manager has been let go. Bev Wallace is no longer here at R.B.

Normally I would be sad, but this time I wasn't. It was getting very difficult to work with here, her being more of a micromanager than anything else. Placing orders became quite the ordeal as I needed to submit it to her before we spent money on items we needed. Then I would need to document when it came, what we ordered, and where it was. Quite cumbersome at times. I stuck with it, and the week before MLK Jr. day, we had a informal chat about the "restructuring" that was going on in the bank. Bev joked that if I saw two cars of the same type, her time would be up. I made a mental note, secretly wishing it would happen.

Well the next day on my way home from nursery school as I was passing, there were indeed two similar cars in the bank parking lot, in the spaces where "we" park. I dismissed it as nothing, went home and took a nap. I recieved a call from the bank. Called back and it was the 2nd in command. She let me know that the "Boss" was being let go, and she was packing it up as she was talking to me.

My mind was racing. What would this mean for us, without a manager?

It would mean that they would soon open up a full time teller position. One which will be mine as of Feb. 13.

That's right. After 4 years at a nursery school, and 2 here at R.B., I'm getting yet another chance to go to the big leauge. And almost a month to the day before the wedding!

Actually, today is the Month to the Day.

It was a sad day. We had fun. The kids made me little cards, I decorated to room with balloons and streamers, and we had a party before they left. I said my goodbyes. Packed up my belongings and left for the bank. It's been a pretty wild day.
