It was weird when my grandfather passed away. I was a pallbearer for the casket. It was freaky.

Sleep...please.

A rain soaked day. The burial of a close friend. Allergies. I'm sure that there are things that I am missing.

I feel really out of sorts today. I'm not too sure as to why that is. Perhaps part of the funk that is clouding me is that Mrs. K was buried today. She passed away April 16th. I went to the visitation last night for about 90 minutes. I had the chance to talk with fellow students, teachers, her kids, and grandchildren.

Funerals for me are weird. I'm always up in the air as to how to feel when a person dies. And what about the grieving process? It's such a strange practice.

Do you really want to hear someone tell you it's alright after you've just lost someone that is close to you? Granted, this for the most part is done roughly three to fives days after the initial passing. Really, I would rather just have people over to eat and watch old movies, or maybe sing songs that the person liked. Carol was awesome. For only being introduced to her through my ninth grade homeroom, as time progressed, we seemed to work well. It was all due to her. I remember all of the times when she would be backstage for shows, or running the house, or collecting biography forms. One of my favorite times was when I handed in my biography for Honk and it was very plain and boring. She took it, asked if there was anything else I did besides that, and then she created one of the greatest biographies that I think I had read. (I liked it so much, I just reposted it when I did Sugar in Waterville.)
It will probably end up being the biography I use for most of my shows, due to the fact that it was written so well.

What a great woman.

Thank you Carol, for all of your contributions to this small area, and making such a large impact!

Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll. Eh...two out of three ain't bad.

I'll just have to do with drugs and rock and roll, for now.

Pollen is poppin', and the grasses are cut.
I'm sitting here drowsy, half asleep on my butt.

It is official, again. Spring is here and with it comes hours of dripping noses, itchy eyes, cotton mouth, and mucus production the puts Ford's assembly line to shame. If there were a practical use for my flowing phlem, I could bottle this stuff up, sell it for a buck, and make millions. And all of that would happen before the begining of this summer.

I bought some quality anti-histimine from Meijer and some Seasonal Allergy relief eye drops. Right now I can barely keep my head upright. I have been speaking slowly all day and laying across my arms as time allows. A quality day.

Ok.

The sun's shining, the birds are singing, and we're living!

What an awesome day!

Yesterday was good too!

Slept until like 11:00 yesterday, and cleaned out my car before I went to work. I bought a spicy chicken strip meal from Popeyes for $3.00 and it was really delicious. The biscuits there are salty and buttery. It was really awesome. They also have fries like Rally's, which means they are pretty much the greatest fries on the planet. I made it to the bank and it was a good day. At work I had to figure out how and who I was going to get to practie at 6:30 for Seussical. After much chatter, I decided to just go to the bank and return my books. I paid a late fine for the cd I have had out for two weeks late, and then I checked it out again. Going to the car I thought that since I was near the Tompkins house, I would drive over and see if they would like a ride to rehearsal. I stopped by and they were going to get a ride from Mayzie. Ms. Tompkins invited me to stay for dinner. It was very nice. I had green beans, white cheddar macaroni noodles, homemade applesauce, and some smoked sausage.

The girls mom and I talked as they got ready to go. Mayzie pulled up and we were off on a whirl-wind adventure. Actually, it was not. We ended up driving over to Section Rd. to Rahman's house. She did the driving, we made it there safely and on time.

Rehearsal was a lot of fun. We sit in our vocal sections, so most people are surronded by others who sing their part. The exception to the rule are the principal characters. We sit in the front row and wait for our chance to sing our part. When we are not singing the character parts, we usually double up on the other parts of the song. It sounds pretty darn good. After the rehearsal, we ended up all going our seperate ways, and I went home to call Milks. She was playing Sim Coaster or something like that and I was playing Madden 05. We talked as we played, and then I went to bed. It was a wonderful day.

SO TODAY!
Um...yeah, about today. Uh, that was Friday. I don't remember what I did on Friday.

But I do remember what happened this weekend, and it was a lot of fun.
I worked until 11:00 at Kroger, and then Korinne came to Kroger as I was ready to leave. She bought some cheese and chips and we had like three plates of nachos between the two of us. It was really good! Saturday I selpt in until like 11:00, and Milks invited me to breakfast. I declined the invite to allow more sleep. She came over and Greg called me. He visited on Tuesday at the bank and I told him we could do something this weekend, so he called and we decided on golf. Milks was the caddie driving the cart. Greg rode shotgun most of the way, and I piggy backed. I actually ended up finding a ball at the end of our 9 hole outing, and Greg had lost two!

But he did best me in the match 56-59 on a par 36. That's +20 to +23. It was fun. Milks and I got Rally's and went to the Wonderful World of the Werners. We visited for about an hour. Then Becca and Daniel wanted to go mini golf while Scott, Ben, and Jake went to the range. We took B & D with us and played through 15 holes. B had to go to the bathroom, and all of the bathrooms at the shack were locked. So I rushed her to the car, drove to the cart barn, got a cart out, drove up to the clubhouse, and took her in so she could use the bathroom. It was quite the adventure!

We made it back down, finished the holes, returned the clubs and then went back to Wernerville. Having dropped the kids off, Milks and I scooted off to Texas Roadhouse for another two hour dinner with her parents. This time they brought a friend. It was funny. After that whole ordeal, we stayed up and played our games until 2:30. I ended up winning the Super Bowl with the Steelers, Milks was the MVP, and she was building a theme park. So that was Saturday in a nutshell.

Sunday she came over and we made it to church about 5 minutes late. We sat down and enjoyed the service. Once service concluded we went to the apartment so I could call a guy that wanted to buy my car. After he failed to answer we went to the gas staion and filled up, and then embarked on a counrty road adventure.

Our destionation... The Milks Homestead. Jeremy, who is Kori's cousin, who married recently and his wife Charla purchased 60 acres near Hillsdale. It is a rustic two story home. Their yard is filled with all sorts of treasures that were left behind by the previous occupants. Jeremy and Charla are gutting the whole house, in addition to planting some 4,000 trees on their property. They also have two sheds, two barns, a corn cellar, and a milking barn. There is also a huge dog that would easily dwarf anyone who approached it, but this dog is so gentle and nice.

This place has everything! We visited with the couple as the made their way to the house to refill the cooler they were using to water the new trees. They chatted with us, introduced us to Charla's father, and gave us directions on where to dine if we were staying in the area. Well, we both listened intently as if we were going to go, and then returned home. On the way home we saw a turtle crossing the road (I know, to get to the other side. Really...) so we stopped to encourage it along. He took our encouragement and scuttled, as only a turtle can do, making his way into the cool grass near the pond. We decided to continue after our encounter with nature, only to be greeted again by another turle in the road. This time we did not encourage him, roaring past at about 60 down the county road.

There's a man on my roof, and he's holding something

What a weekend. Daylight savings time, Korinne's conference for tutors, the Croswell audition, and Sunday night at Kroger.

I made a trek to Adrian MI this past weekend to visit Milks at her conference. It was weird, she has friends. They even have personalities. Very Scary.

We hung out with her profs and some of the students in a hotel room until 2 in the morning. It was really funny because they were just like me in ways. Fun to be around, funny, and quick with barbs. Oh did I mention...

I shared a bed with four women.

Yep.

It was pretty awesome.

There's more, but it would take away from the rest of this blurb.

In the morning Korinne got ready to leave and I did too. She went to the finale of the conference as I went to a rummage sale. It was great. I bought a Univ. of Wisc.-Milwaulkee sweatshirt and a sweet trench coat. I think it was a great deal. I got those things, and the church youth group got $10 to go on their mission trip. After the deal of the day, it was off to WalMart to grab a sandwich and a drink. After eating, I went to the Adrian Library, located one building away from the Historic Croswell Opera House.

I read a Dr. Seuss book about Eggs, although I cannot remember the title. The library had these awesome stained glass windows that depicted children's literary characters. I thought they looked totally cool, and one day I would love to have them for my children. Afterwards, I was walking out to the car to get my sheet music for the Croswell audition and Korinne just happened to pull up as I was getting the music. There we were, alone in the parking lot. So off we went into the Opera House to begin the audition process.

I have not been to the Croswell since 1997, so it was fun to return. Once inside I was pleasantly surprised, and also mortified. The same psycho that is directing Godspell...was teaching the dance for the audition.

At least Milks got to hear what I told her about. I filled out the form, putting down some of my best acting, and turned it in. I was number 42.
42 out of a possible 152 mind you. So I think I showed up at the right time.

We sat, and sat, and sat. Then I was called up to the audition room. A small room with 10 people in it as well as the four of us who had been called up. I was third. The three others did well at singing. I did great. I sang Poison Ivy, a 50's pop song originally performed by The Coasters. It sounded great. Then I went downstairs to wait my turn to learn that dern dance.

Before that, I was sized up by the costumer. A nice woman with some sort of strange accent. I could not tell if she was British, Austrian, Australian, or something else. She was very fast too! I told her to let me know if she was going anywhere other than up north. She didn't know I was talking about measuring my nether region, so she asked what I meant. I told her, and she asked me to relax. It was funny. Then I made a joke about needing more measuring tape when she measured my chest, due to the fact that I am the rough build of a freezer. She made some kind of sound, not sure if it was a laugh or he gasping for breath, and then she continued. Moments later she went for my nether region.

First sharing a bed with four women, and now being "felt" by an Australian woman, can this weekend get any better? Seriously!

After the hand measurement Milks and I went to some little place on Main street. We were going to eat inside, but I was afraid that I would miss the dance portion of the audition. She got a Greek salad, six cheese lasagna, and bread sticks to go. We headed back to the Croswell and I went to the car to get my swim trunks so I would stay cool during the dance portion of the audition. I was going to go change into the runks, and my number was called. I dropped trouser right in the hall and put on the shorts, and made it just in time to begin the dance.

The dance portion was heavy jazz type dance. Lots of pointing fingers, walking on tip toes, and spinning was involved in the routine. It made sense to me after I thought about it. Fiddler on the Roof is not a dance heavy show, Carousel is not either, but Chicago is, so that was why we were learning this type of dance. Teach the hardest dance to all of the people and then weed out those that suck from Chicago and put them in Fiddler and Carousel. What genius!

My legs still hurt from that dance. Once finished, we turned our attention to the Adrian Goodwill where Milks found a beautiful two piece women's suit that was brand new...for five dollars!

A steal. A deal, less than the cost of a meal.
(Heh..Seuss.)

Afterwards we drove home and I took a three hour nap, followed it up with work, and then back home to have pizza and pop with the little woman as we watched Napoleon Dynamite.

Best. Weekend. Ever?

Eh, it was good.
